SE "UkrRTC "ENERGOSTAL" has successfully completed the reconstruction of gas exhaust ducts with installation of new cooling boilers of converters no. 1 and no. 2 and gas purification plants in the converter shop of PJSC “DNEPROVSKY IRON & STEEL WORKS”
Within the terms of the agreement with PJSC “Dneprovsky Iron & Steel Works” (PJSC "DMK", Kamenskoye, Dnipropetrovsk region) SE "UkrRTC "Energostal" (Center) has developed the design and working documentation, supplied equipment, carried out author supervision and commissioning works with driving up of two gas exhaust ducts of converters No.1 and No.2 in the oxygen converter shop to the design performance.
During the reconstruction of gas cleaning systems of converters No. 1 and No. 2 and cooling boilers, the Center has developed unique technical solutions that made it possible to increase productivity of gas exhaust ducts on waste gases. The new cooling boilers have a different design, configuration and capacity in regards to waste gas volume that they let through compared with the ones removed from the process as well as the new converter control system provides for automatic control of emissions.
The result of the reconstruction, during which SE "UkrRTC "Energostal" has developed and implemented modern progressive solutions as well as carried out commissioning works of the new equipment, using emission control system based on automated process control systems, is significant reduction of dust content in waste gases and decrease amount of emissions during blowing. In particular, before the start of the overhaul, the real rate of gas cleaning after converter No. 2 was 142 mg/m3. Complex of works being carried out provides reduction of emissions of suspended substances into the atmosphere up to the level specified by the environmental protection legislation of Ukraine – 50 mg/m3. The same degree of purification will be achieved after completion in the first quarter of 2019 of commissioning works at the gas exhaust duct of the converter No. 1.
Substitution of the existing worn-out equipment by new, with higher technical and technological characteristics, enables increasing efficiency of gas cleaning and reducing emissions to the atmosphere at PJSC "DMK".
